Spatial Stories: Unleashing Insights in a Big Data Realm
Under the mentorship of Dr. Avinash Chouhan, my research internship at the North Eastern Space Application Centre, marked a transformative journey. Tasked with developing an innovative prototype, I leveraged Spark-based Hadoop clusters and GeoTrellis to revolutionize the processing and analysis of extensive GeoTIFF datasets within the realm of Big Data. Beyond the backend, I seamlessly integrated the solution with a React-UI WebApp, providing users with an intuitive interface.
A notable accomplishment was empowering users to extract crucial geo-spatial insights effortlessly by allowing them to draw polygons on the map. This groundbreaking approach transformed the data visualization of critical land information, contributing to a 10% improvement in efficiency and significantly enhancing user engagement.
This enriching experience not only honed my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the impactful intersection of technology and geospatial data.
